Nansen Refugee Award
On 13 September UNHCR announced the 2011 Nansen Refugee Award laureate as Nasser Salim Ali Al-Hamairy, founder of Yemens Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS), and his dedicated staff. Al-Hamairy and the staff members of SHS was honoured at the Nansen Refugee Award ceremony in the evening of 3 October at the Bâtiment de Forces Motrices in Geneva. The award was presented by Angelina Jolie, in a show produced for television by EyeworksDinamo. A team from AVAB CAC was responsible for production design, lights, and audio.

Kilden Performing Arts Centre
Kilden Performing Arts Centre in Kristiansand will be the biggest arts centre between Oslo and Stavanger when the doors open for artists and audiences in the autumn of 2011. Kilden is to be the joint centre for three independent institutions: Agder Regional Theater, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Opera Sør (the regional opera company). In addition, Kilden vill act as an arts centre with a host function - for local amateurs and professional artists alike, both domestic and international.

AVAB CAC joins forces with Finnish Eastway Sound & Lighting.
Eastway, an entertainment equipment rental and event organising company jointly owned by CapMan Buyout IX fund and Eastway’s management team, has agreed to merge with Norwegian AVAB CAC AS and AVAB CAC Bergen AS. Together, the companies will form a leading entertainment equipment rental and sales company operating both in Finland and in Norway. The current owners of the merging entities will become shareholders in the new holding company, which in turn will have 100% ownership in all of the three companies. Fis Nordic World Ski Championships
It was with great pride we participated in the Fis Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in March 2011. We were awarded two contracts, PA systems for sound coverage in the Holmenkollen arena during the competitions, and Stage, lights, rigging and PA for the medal ceremonies held downtown Oslo every night after the competitions. 100+ Turbosound Milans, and a large number of Meyer Sound M'elodies on HP700 subs was fed via fibre from a Midas Pro6 console. The arena was divided into more than 70 zones.
