The Nobel's Peace Prize Concert 2009

The 15th. Nobel Peace Prize Concert was held at Oslo Spektrum in honor of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate - Barack Obama. The show was hosted by Hollywood actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, and featured headliners such as Wyclef Jean, Toby Keith, Natasha Bedingfield Lang LAng and 80s disco-legend Donna Summer. Once again AVAB CAC was awarded the contract for lighting, audio, LED/video and IMAGs for this event. The sound system was based on Meyer MILO, MICA and M'elodie, with 2 x Midas XL8 as FOH desks, and 3 x Midas PRO6s as monitor...

Award-winning design from AVAB CAC

At this year's PLASA in London AVAB CAC was awarded the prize "Pushing the boundaries of technical excellence", for the systemdesign at the Nobel's Peace Prize Concert in Oslo in December 2008. The prize was awarded by MIDAS consoles, as this was the first time ever that 2 XL8s on FOH and 3 Pro6s as monitor consoles on different locations in the venue was networked together in one system. MIDAS XL8 installed in Olavshallen - Trondheim.

AVAB CAC installs the first XL8 system in Norway. In August 2009 The concert hall in the city of Trondheim, "Olavshallen" refitted their main auditorium with an XL8 system. After 15 years with the industry standard MIDAS XL3, it was now about time to go digital, and to go digital in a way that didn't require weeks of training. The system is 128 input, 56 output. In addition to Olavshallen, two XL8 systems are available on hire from AVAB CAC.

Oya Festival - Bigger than ever.

In less than ten years, the Oya Festival has grown to be Norway's largest of its kind. The bill in Agust 2009 included acts like Arctic Monkeys, Röyksopp, Lilly Allen, Wilco, Glasvegas and Madness. This year we supplied 5 venues with stage- and roof-systems, Audio systems based on MIDAS Heritage/Pro6 platforms, and Meyer Sound M3D, Milo, Mica and M'elodie line arrays. All lighting systems included a mixture of conventional, moving heads and LED fixtures controlled by GrandMA desks. All followspots were Robert Juliat Aramis 2,5 HMI....

AVAB CAC awarded contract for Kilden

On May 11th technical director of AVAB CAC, Karsten Lyngstad, signed the contract for the delivery and installation of all lighting- and lighting control equipment to the new theatre and concert arena in Kristiansand - Kilden. Ernst Aukland, general manager for the new cultural centre says that this is the first contract for technical equipment. Delivery is scheduled for 2011, and the contract allows for alterations of equipment due to technological development assumed to take place over the next two years.
