 | The RENAS Scheme.AVAB CAC is a member of RENAS. This means that we accept EE waste that proceeds from the type of goods we import/distribute.
RENAS has established 72 regional collection sites throughout the country where EE waste that is subject to RENAS' areas of responsibility can be delivered free of cost. The waste can be delivered by suppliers, engineers, wholesalers, manufacturing companies, municipalities, private waste collectors, etc.
The EE waste is transported from regional collection sites to approved processing plants that RENAS has entered into agreements with.
Companies that choose to not be part of RENAS must organize a system on their own for collecting and processing their industrial electronic and electrical products and provide documentation of this to the State Pollution Control Authority. The authorities demand a 100% collection rate, based on market share. Establishing such collections on one's own is extremely costly for individual importers/manufacturers.
The electrical and electronics industry has therefore established RENAS, which organizes and takes care of operating a national recycling system that complies with the requirements in the EE Regulations drawn up by the Ministry of the Environment.
